Before we talk about the Marchesi Gallery we can not but talk about the Marchesi Restaurant.

The "RISTORANTE MARCHESI" was one of the well - known restaurants in Ferrara and Guido Marchesi is, literally, its "inventor".

Born in Ferrara, March 31, 1950, graduated as a private student, he enrols at DAMS in Bologna, as many young people ("beatnik" ?) do . To reassure his parents, however, he decides to become an employee of a public body of Ferrara.
He remains in this role for 9 years but his rebellious nature of globetrotter makes him leave the desk to move to the island of Elba, where he opens his first restaurant: "Osteria delle Grazie ".
He is here still 5 years, then, in 1988, he decides to return to Ferrara, where he encounters a charming little restaurant, in via Vignatagliata, in the Ghetto, which he subsequently calls "Guido". After nearly twenty years he finds a wonderful opportunity: the possibility to take over the areas of two shops of the road, empty and desolate, to restructure them and to put them in communication. In 2006, the new "Guido Ristorante" is born (now, named "Ristorante Marchesi") and also the "Galleria d'Arte Marchesi" is born, why you cannot forget that Guido is also a well – known painter. Then, after Summer 2019, Guido begins a new adventure, no longer in the field of catering, but with an initiative that starts from the Gallery.... Soon, then!
